grew up in the small, rural town of Tulare, California in a family of dairy and cotton farmers with deeps roots in the area. He graduated Valedictorian from the same High School that his parents and grandparents attended.
In 1996, Kyle left the San Joaquin valley for the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. During his four years in Philadelphia, he was involved in the Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity, Penn Jazz Ensemble, and fulfilled his work-study grant as a campus tour guide. Kyle also spent eight months abroad studying in Aix-en-Provence and Paris, France. He graduated in 2000 with a Bachelors of Science in Economics, minor in French and concentration in Entrepreneurial Management.
After Penn, Kyle moved to Los Angeles to work for New Line Cinema in business development. While there he was responsible for financial modeling of films as well as evaluation of new business opportunities. Soon after, in response to the call of the internet boom, he joined Goto.com in the business planning group.
After Goto's purchase by Yahoo!, Kyle pursued an entirely new career direction, and became a fashion model. He traveled all over the world, living and working in such diverse places as New York, Hong Kong, Hamburg, Barcelona and Sydney, booking runway, editorial, print and commercial jobs for clients like Levi Strauss, Men's Journal, Nautica, Tommy Hilfiger, GQ, Abercrombie and Fitch, The Gap, Kenzo and Tom Ford.
